Qigong, Taiji, the technique to master the Qi force in your body

Taiji or Tai chi means the origin. According to Chinese tradition, there exists opposite forces in the universe at the time of creation. These forces are known as Yin and Yang and they interact with each other, and merge with different forces in the universe: the Earth, Fire, Water, Wood, and Metal energy. Yin and Yang bring creation into being with a variety of characteristics.

Various Qi gong schools perform exercises that apply the concept of Qi in the field of martial arts to master Qi and improve power, strength, and health. Qigong literally means the (art) of mastering Qi.

All of us live because our breath or Qi is active. You die when you stop breathing. Life’s characteristic is motion. Your body functions only because of the constant flow of nutrition, water, oxygen, blood, and Qi throughout the body. If the flow of your blood and Qi is smooth, you stay healthy. Qi is the life force that drives your life.

Hence, when one practices Qi Gong, he learns to master the energy or Qi in his body.

Qigong is the technique to master the Qi force in your body.

So, now that we know what Qigong is, we can ask is Tai chi? Most of us mistake Tai chi for Tai chi Quan which is the martial art that apples the principle of Tai chi to physical movements of the body, such as Tai chi 108 sets or Tai chi 24 sets. It is extremely helpful for improving self defense and health.

However, most Tai chi associations and schools today have unfortunately lost the art of Tai chi Qi gong which is the basis of Tai chi Quan. Most of the time, when people say they learn Tai chi, they refer to the external form of Tai chi Quan movements. Although the practice of Tai chi Quan is beneficial, one can benefit much more by knowing both Tai chi Quan and Tai chi Qigong.

This will lead us to Tai ji Gong, which is the total art of Tai chi, including Tai chi Knife, Tai chi Sword, Taichi Quan, and Tai chi Qigong and other Tai chi techniques established using the classic rules of Tai chi. Tai chi is the genuine art that we can trace back to millennia of genuine practitioners.

In learning Tai ji Gong to master the energy within your body, you need to first start with Tai chi Qi Gong. You’ll learn how to empower your energy and organs, replenish powerful energy from the universe, open your meridian channels, and detoxify any negative energy you have in the body.

After that, you can go forward in your learning of Tai chi Quan, as well as learning Tai chi Knife, Tai chi Sword, etc. The level of internal energy and the discipline required is different at each stage.

As one practices, he can progress to greater levels of Tai ji Gong mastery. You’ll be able to master your Qi, and will also help channel the Qi energy all over your body at any moment of Tai ji exercise. You’ll be able to rejuvenate your body, heal sickness significantly, and gain instant energy.

The ancient Chinese used marijuana as medicine

Marijuana's history goes way back over 10,000 years ago to where it has allegedly originated: in ancient China. Broken pottery reveals imprints of hemp rope dated approximately 10,000 B.C. which are the earliest evidences of the use of this plant. It was widely cultivated and grown in ancient China.

The most ancient New Stone Age culture in China used hemp to make ropes, fishing nets, and clothing. The hemp fibers were taken from the stems of Cannabis plants. The stems were strong, sturdy and flexible enough to be woven into cloth or spun into yarn. They were very durable and sturdy that during the start of the 2nd and 1st century B.C., they were used to make the first paper.

Along with soybeans, wheat, rice, and barley, the seeds of Cannabis sativa were considered one of ancient China’s “five grains”. Marijuana seeds were used or roasted to make meal. The seeds of Cannabis were also cooked as porridge. Up to the 10th century when they were replaced with higher quality grains, these seeds remained a vital staple of the Chinese diet.

Marijuana oil was extracted by crushing the marijuana seeds which the ancient Chinese used for lubrication, lamps, and cooking. The residue from the leftover cannabis was used as feeds for animals.

The ancient Chinese also used marijuana as medicine. The most ancient Chinese pharmacological text discussed how preparations of marijuana helped treat a wider range of conditions including constipation and malaria. Marijuana therapies involved crushing the plant’s roots into a paste for alleviating pain. During the 2nd century, Hua To, a Chinese surgeon was also alleged to use cannabis as anesthesia for surgery.

The earliest psychoactive use of marijuana in China was recorded about 2000 B.C. According to the Materia Medica Sutra, if ingested in excess, the seed of the cannabis plant will enable the person to see ghosts. “It lightens the body and makes one communicate with ghosts if taken over a long-term.” According to the fifth century Chinese doctor, Tao Hung Ching, combined with ginseng cannabis, marijuana produces a hallucinatory effect that allows users to see the future.

TCM herbs provide powerful protection against liver cancer

More than 10 percent of the world's population currently suffers from some form of liver disease, whether it be fibrosis, cirrhosis, a hepatocellular carcinoma, alcoholic steatosis, or chronic hepatitis. And a great number of these folks use some kind of natural remedy as treatment rather than pharmaceuticals, according to a 2012 study published in the European Journal of Medicinal Chemistry.

Herbal remedies have gained an incredible following among liver disease sufferers, because they're safe and highly effective, without all the harmful side effects.

According to the paper, the following herbs and herb-derived remedies are among the top contenders in this natural fight against liver disease:
1) Curcumin (Curcuma longa). This turmeric derivative has been used throughout Southeast Asia as a remedy for rheumatism, skin diseases, body aches, intestinal worms, diarrhea and hepatic disorders. More recently, curcumin has shown scientific benefits in treating inflammatory diseases like Diabetes, heart disease, arthritis, dementia and cancer.
"Curcumin could attenuate liver injury induced by ethanol [alcohol], thioacetamide, iron overdose, cholestasis and acute, subchronic and chronic carbon tetrachloride (CCl4) intoxication," explains the paper. "[M]oreover, it can reverse CCl4 cirrhosis to some extent."

2) Wogonin (Scutellaria radix). This monoflavonoid compound isolated from skullcap root shows incredible promise in the treatment of both Hepatitis B and C, as well as various forms of alcoholic and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. Unlike pharmaceuticals, wogonin doesn't promote drug resistance, nor does it induce adverse events in patients.
"The anti-HBV activity of wogonin demonstrates its ability to suppress hepatitis B surface antigen secretion in cell culture," the study highlights, noting that wogonin has also been shown to be effective in treating hepatocellular carcinoma cells.

3) Glycyrrhizin (Glycyrrhiza glabra). This active constituent of licorice root has long been used in the treatment of Chronic Hepatitis, and also possesses a host of natural anti-inflammatory and antiviral properties. Glycyrrhizin is used in traditional Chinese medicine to protect liver function and also to combat tumors.

4) Resveratrol. This polyphenolic phytochemical derived from berries, grapes and wine, has gained itself a solid reputation as one of the most potent anti-aging compounds found in nature. But resveratrol has also been shown scientifically to have hepatoprotective properties that may help protect against hepatic damage caused by free radicals and inflammatory cytokines. It also helps elevate levels of glutathione in the body and promote the formation of antioxidant enzymes, both of which help protect the liver.

5) Silymarin (Silybum marianum). This compound derived from milk thistle is arguably the most well-studied in the natural treatment of liver disease. Milk thistle extract has long held a strong reputation as one of the most powerful "liver tonics" in the world, due to its amazing ability to prevent and/or reverse hepatotoxicity caused by drugs and other toxins. Silymarin also helps combat the production of free radicals, as well as exerting antifibrotic activity that helps protect the liver against toxic damage.

Lemon found to effectively fight cancer without side effects

You can never really go wrong when it comes to lemons: It’s a delicious addition to any dish, and it smells good, too. It’s also known to have various health benefits, most notable of which is vitamin C.
That said, these yellow oblong-shaped fruits aren’t just to keep the colds away for another day. According to research, lemons – in particular, lemon peels – contain key compounds that support the immune system and fight cancer, without any side effects.

This is possible, thanks to the presence of a compound called d-limonene.

D-limonene, which is commonly found in lemon and orange peels, is a type of naturally occurring oil nutrient called terpenes. Aside from having anti-cancer properties, the compound is also a potent antioxidant and has shown anti-inflammatory properties.

In a study of 43 women who had just been diagnosed with breast cancer, researchers from the University of Arizona Cancer Center provided them with two grams of limonene to evaluate its anti-cancer properties. This was done every day, between two and six weeks before their surgery, with researchers collecting breast tissue and blood samples to measure changes in key biomarkers linked to breast cancer. Based on the results, biomarkers for breast tumor were reduced by 22 percent. The reduction included cyclin D1, a protein strongly associated with breast cancer. Researchers also noted that the d-limonene that the women consumed became highly concentrated in the affected breast tissue.

According to the researchers, how this came to be is a matter that’s up for debate, but they observed that d-limonene might have prevented the progression of the disease by stopping it from developing in the first place. In addition, combining d-limonene with perillyl alcohol – a substance isolated from the essential oils of certain plants – can amplify its anti-cancer properties. However, it’s not just d-limonene that gives lemons its anti-cancer boost. Modified citrus pectin (MCP), which is also found in lemon rinds, is easily digested and absorbed by the bloodstream. This allows MCP to quickly act in preventing the spread (metastasis) of breast, prostate, and skin cancer in the body.

Limonoids, on the other hand, slow down the growth of cancer cells and induces cell death (apoptosis).
We’re not even scratching the surface: In total, lemons have 22 anti-cancer compounds, which deliver a devastating one-two punch against cancer; They’re especially effective against cancers of the mouth, stomach, pharynx, and larynx.
